aespa is set to lend their voices to a new EP inspired by the much-anticipated sequel to “Rebel Moon.” A source reports exclusively that the K-pop sensation will be contributing to “Songs of the Rebellion,” an EP influenced by the characters from Netflix’s upcoming “Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver,” slated for release next month.
The EP will feature songs dedicated to each of the sequel’s main characters. Jessie Reyez’s “Child of Fire” is inspired by Sofia Boutella’s protagonist Kora, while aespa’s track “Die Trying” is influenced by Bae Doona’s character Nemesis. The latter is a collaboration with Korean-American producer Tokimonsta.
Tokimonsta told the source,
“Being able to collaborate with K-pop act aespa was incredible, especially as a Korean-American… Nemesis’s heroic strength, which arose from the depths of tragedy and darkness, fueled my creative process throughout the track.”
The EP will also include “Ode to Ancestors” by Black Coffee, inspired by General Titus, and “Revolution” by Kordhell, inspired by the character Jimmy.
“Songs of the Rebellion” is scheduled to release on April 5, while “Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver” will hit screens on April 19.
