Big Brother legend Mike “Boogie” Malin has found himself in legal trouble once again.
The Big Brother 7 winner and member of the Chilltown alliance was arrested in January 2025 for attempting to steal from multiple CVS pharmacy locations in the San Fernando Valley.
Sources informed the outlet that an employee at one CVS confronted Malin, 54, outside the store, asking him to pay for items he had allegedly taken without purchasing. Malin then reportedly went back inside, placed the items on the floor, and left.
After the employee reported the incident to law enforcement, officers were sent to another CVS location, knowing that shoplifters often target multiple stores of the same chain.
At the second location, police discovered Malin’s car parked outside, unoccupied, with the engine running and hazard lights on. When the three-time Big Brother contestant returned, officers approached him.
A witness told that Malin had stolen two bottles of alcohol and energy drinks from the pharmacy. He was subsequently arrested and booked for misdemeanor theft before being released on a citation.
This is not Malin’s first run-in with the law. His legal troubles began in 2011 when he was sued for embezzlement and ordered to pay $800,000. The following summer, he made his most recent appearance on Big Brother 14.
In 2019, Malin was arrested on felony stalking charges for allegedly harassing his former alliance member and Big Brother 2 winner, Dr. Will Kirby. After missing a court date related to the case, he eventually pleaded no contest and was sentenced to two years of probation.
“On behalf of Dr. Kirby, we are grateful to the criminal justice system for holding Mr. Malin accountable for his actions,” Kirby’s attorney exclusively told in a statement at the time.
“The crime of stalking is often underreported. There is absolutely no shame in asking for help and reporting troubling behavior. Dr. Kirby respectfully asks for privacy for he and family at this time.”
A month after the stalking case was settled, Malin pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor DUI following an arrest in August 2020.
Malin made his Big Brother debut in season 2 during the summer of 2001. He returned five years later for the first Big Brother All-Stars in season 7, where he won the $500,000 grand prize. He later made a comeback as a “coach” in Big Brother 14.
However, in 2022, Malin filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, allowing for the sale of his assets to settle outstanding debts.
