BLACKPINK has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first K-Pop girl group to receive a BRIT Gold Certification for an album in the United Kingdom.
This prestigious recognition was awarded for their debut studio album, ‘THE ALBUM’, released on October 2, 2020, by YG Entertainment and Interscope Records.
The album, which is the group’s first full-length project since their debut in 2016, features eight tracks and includes notable collaborations, highlighting their musical versatility and global influence.
BLACKPINK’s debut album has achieved a significant milestone by being certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). According to BPI standards, this certification is awarded to albums that have sold 100,000 units.
This accomplishment makes BLACKPINK the first female K-pop act to earn a gold certification for an album in the United Kingdom, highlighting their growing international influence and popularity.
