Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has recently revealed the first official trailer for their highly anticipated animated feature The Cat in the Hat, a fresh reimagining of the beloved Dr. Seuss classic.

Directed by Alessandro Carloni, known for his work on Kung Fu Panda 3, and written by Erica Rivinoja, a former staff writer and producer for South Park, the film introduces a new twist to the iconic story.

In this version, the Cat is portrayed as a secret agent working for the I.I.I.I. (The Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration), tasked with helping two siblings adjust to a challenging move to a new town.

As the Cat embarks on a series of increasingly complicated assignments, he must prove his worth to retain his magical hat and his position within the institute.

A standout and unexpected moment in the trailer is the inclusion of BLACKPINK Rosé’s smash hit “APT,” which plays prominently and adds a dynamic, modern soundtrack that perfectly complements the Cat’s quirky and irreverent personality.

This fusion of classic storytelling with contemporary pop culture has captivated audiences and sparked excitement among both animation fans and BLACKPINK’s global fanbase.

The film is set to hit theaters and IMAX across North America on February 27, 2026, with an international release following shortly on February 25.

This collaboration highlights how K-pop continues to influence mainstream media worldwide and sets the tone for what promises to be a lively and imaginative cinematic experience.
