Angelina Jolie shares the news via Instagram
A few weeks before the move-in day, the “The Eternals” actress joyfully shared on Instagram that her daughter had decided to attend the university.
Jolie congratulated all of the new students beginning the school year by sharing a photo of Zahara with her classmates. She underlined the occasion’s unique significance and expressed pride in having a family member enrolled at Spelman.
Jolie and Zahara got the chance to meet Vice President for Student Affairs Darryl Holloman and President Dr. Helene Gayle of Spelman College during Zahara’s move-in. They shared pictures of the occasion on Instagram to remember it.
Jolie and Gayle were pictured together on the Spelman campus in the first photo. The two conversed in a video clip that Holloman was filming. In response to a question concerning her feelings as a Spelman mother, Jolie said, “I’m going to start crying! I have not yet begun to cry.”
The president of the university teased that there would be “plenty of time to cry” at the next event, implying that it was planned to make people cry. “I heard tomorrow night’s the big night,” Jolie retorted. I’m managing everything.”
Afterward, Pitt,59, revealed in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE that he finds it “really beautiful” that his daughter is enrolled at Spelman College.
Angelina Jolie danced at her daughter Zahara’s admission into the Spelman College
After learning that her daughter Zahara had been accepted to Spelman College, Angelina Jolie couldn’t contain her joy and started dancing.
On a Sunday, the proud mother joined a lively gathering of fellow students and their families and was spotted showing off her Electric Slide dancing skills to the funky beats of “Candy” by the group Cameo. Jolie, who was wearing an oversized grey sweater and white slacks, was grooving with style, while Zahara, 17, went for a more understated appearance in a white T-shirt.
Jolie and her daughter looked happy, holding hands with another dancer at what Morehouse LA President Brandon Rainey called a “family reunion.” Rainey tweeted a video of the event, highlighting the fun environment in which #SpelhouseLA members performed dance routines for Jolie.
In 2020, during a TIME 100 Talk video interview, Angelina Jolie praised her 15-year-old daughter Zahara, calling her an “extraordinary African woman.”
Vanessa Nakate is a climate activist from Uganda. Acknowledging Zahara’s Ethiopian roots, Jolie highlighted the close relationship Zahara has with her nation and continent, expressing admiration for her daughter’s special and distinct connection to Africa.
Has Zahara dropped his father’s surname?
Following their 2016 split, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fought a protracted legal battle that was compared to the well-known legal case involving Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Rumors had it that Maddox, their son, had decided not to take his father’s last name.
Now, it seems that Zahara, their daughter, is following a similar route by enrolling in college.
“My name is Zahara Marley Jolie,” Zahara said in an Essence video that she had uploaded. And [I] arrived in the city of Angels, Los Angeles, California, after traveling from the Golden State. Fans with keen eyes noticed that she left out the name of her father, Brad Pitt, from her introduction.
