Bryan Abasolo isn’t holding back as his divorce from Rachel Lindsay continues to unfold in court. The 44-year-old chiropractor opened up about his ongoing separation from Lindsay, whom he met on The Bachelorette in 2017, via his Instagram Stories.
He praised the divorce coach he’s been working with, expressing gratitude for the support.
Abasolo described feeling “emotionally and psychologically beaten down” when he met Rene Garcia. “I needed an objective opinion and guidance to make a huge decision,” he wrote in the July 18 post.
“I credit @renesance_man, who I now call a friend, for helping me face the PR tricks and gaslighting I was warned about. I’m thankful. If you’re thinking of separating, find a divorce coach so you don’t make a decision based on reaction, but through clarity.”
Abasolo filed for divorce from Lindsay, 39, on January 2, citing irreconcilable differences after four years of marriage. In a since-deleted Instagram statement, he shared that they had “made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew.”
The separation remains ongoing in court, with Abasolo’s request for monthly spousal support being initially challenged by Lindsay. The pair then exchanged accusations regarding the state of their marriage.
In May, Abasolo requested emergency spousal support and at least $75,000 in legal fees from Lindsay. She countered that he was “not in need” of the funds, which she claimed “far exceed the actual marital lifestyle and his need,” according to documents.
Lindsay argued that the $16,000 annual income Abasolo cited in his filing is “less than he would [earn] if he worked at McDonald’s” and asserted that his “ability and opportunity to generate income…enable[s] him to support himself.”
Abasolo then reiterated his request for $16,000 in monthly spousal support.
During a July 10 court appearance, the judge ordered Lindsay to pay him “temporary spousal support in the sum of $13,257 per month” starting on July 15, with no specified end date. Additionally, she was ordered to cover $20,000 of his legal fees.
As the couple argued over spousal support, they also made conflicting statements about their relationship. Lindsay claimed she found out about Abasolo filing for divorce via text, which he denied.
She also asserted that their “marital standard of living was nowhere near as glamorous as [he] portrays it to be.”
Abasolo provided further text messages, suggesting Lindsay was neither “surprised nor shocked” by his filing despite her claims. He also stated that she “never showed any interest in [his] business” and that her “jet-setting career often took her away from our marital residence while I stayed home.”
He alleged that Lindsay wanted him “out of the way” and “not involved in ‘Hollywood,'” going as far as to “disinvite [him] to parties or events and then go with her industry friends instead.”
