Carolina Handling, a prominent integrated material handling solutions provider in the Southeast, has appointed Joe Perkins as its Chief Operating Officer.
Perkins, who has been with Carolina Handling since 2012, previously held the position of executive vice president of operations since April 1, 2020.
His journey within the company began as a sales representative, steadily advancing through various roles including sales manager, corporate warehouse solutions manager, director of warehouse products and solutions, and vice president of operations, culminating in his elevation to the executive team.
In recognition of his leadership, Carolina Handling was honored with the prestigious 2021 award for Best Service Performance among all dealers in The Raymond Corporation network.

In his role as COO, Perkins assumes responsibility for overseeing various departments within the company, including the service, power management, continuous improvement, distribution, rentals, parts, and quality assurance teams.
Additionally, he will supervise the Intralogistics Solutions Group, reflecting Carolina Handling’s strategic shift towards becoming an end-to-end intralogistics solutions provider.
This evolution encompasses offering a comprehensive suite of services, from consulting to connected technologies, alongside an expanded range of material handling equipment and support services.
This strategic approach aims to address the evolving needs of the material handling industry effectively.

Hailing from Goldsboro, North Carolina, Perkins is an alumnus of the University of Mt. Olive in Mt. Olive, North Carolina. He currently resides in Denver, North Carolina, with his wife and three children.
