ROH World Champion Chris Jericho takes the lead in Dark Match, and the first trailer for the pro wrestling horror film has been unveiled.
Shudder released the trailer for Dark Match, a chilling movie that combines the world of wrestling with the macabre.
The story centers on “a group of wrestlers [who] find out just how real wrestling can get when they become the guests of honor at a match held by Satanists.”
Dark Match is set to premiere on Shudder on January 31.

In addition to Jericho, the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Ayisha Issa (Transplant), Steven Ogg (The Walking Dead), Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries), Michael Eklund (Wynonna Earp), and Jonathan Cherry (Goon).
Shudder also shared several images from the trailer, giving fans a glimpse into the eerie atmosphere of the film.
Chris Jericho’s Acting Career
Jericho has explored acting on several occasions throughout his career. He appeared in MacGruber and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot before landing a role in the cult horror hit Terrifier 2.
He also reprised his role in Terrifier 3 and was featured in the 2022 horror anthology KillRoy Was Here.
Jericho has previously discussed his role in the Terrifier franchise, saying, “I’d like to think I was part of the grassroots movement for [the] Terrifier franchise.”
Dark Match represents Jericho’s latest venture into blending his wrestling persona with his growing presence in the horror genre. Fans can catch the movie exclusively on Shudder starting January 31.
