Paramount Pictures has finally dropped the first trailer for their upcoming holiday comedy Dear Santa, which reunites Jack Black with director Bobby Farrelly. The film will be available for streaming on Paramount+ and for digital purchase on November 25.
In Dear Santa, the story unfolds when a young boy sends his Christmas wish list to Santa, but with one major spelling mishap that invites a devilish Jack Black to crash the holiday season and stir up chaos.
Written by Ricky Blitt and Peter Farrelly, based on a story developed with Dan Ewen, this film marks Black’s first collaboration with the Farrelly brothers since the 2001 comedy Shallow Hal, in which he starred alongside Gwyneth Paltrow.
The star-studded cast includes Robert Timothy Smith, Keegan-Michael Key, Brianne Howey, Hayes MacArthur, Post Malone, P.J. Byrne, Jaden Carson Baker, and Kai Cech.
Dear Santa is produced by Peter Farrelly, Bobby Farrelly, and Jeremy Kramer, with Kevin Barnett, Pete Jones, and Gretel Twombly serving as executive producers.
Jack Black’s recent filmography is packed with major projects, as he stars in Dear Santa following recent success in The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Kung Fu Panda 4. His upcoming projects also include A Minecraft Movie and a new Anaconda film with Paul Rudd.
Bobby Farrelly recently directed Champions, a dramedy about the Special Olympics for Focus Features, and is slated to work on Sporkinfeesten, a family vacation comedy written by Aaron and Will Eisenberg, which has been picked up by Amazon MGM Studios.
This festive season, Dear Santa promises to be a wild holiday addition for those looking for some irreverent laughs.
