As the highly anticipated finale of Netflix’s global phenomenon Squid Game approaches, director Hwang Dong Hyuk has issued a heartfelt plea to fans: no spoilers.
Ahead of the June 27 release of Squid Game Season 3, Hwang released a personal letter to viewers in conjunction with a limited online screening event running from June 25 to 27. He shared his mixed emotions, writing,
“I’m both nervous and excited to finally be able to show you even a glimpse of the final chapter of Squid Game.”
The director emphasized that the cast and crew have poured six years of dedication into bringing the series to a meaningful conclusion.

Hwang teased that Season 3 will dive deep into the final destinies of the main characters, including Gi Hun’s climactic decision and a dramatic showdown between Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae) and Young Il (Lee Byung Hun)—a confrontation that could decide the future of the deadly game once and for all.
However, Hwang’s central message was a strong request: avoid spoilers at all costs.
“This show is at its best when watched without knowing what comes next,” he wrote.
“For the sake of the many who will watch it after you, I kindly ask that you refrain from sharing spoilers.”
This finale marks the end of a groundbreaking journey that began in 2021 and sparked a global cultural movement.
With Squid Game Season 3 being the final chapter, expectations are sky-high—and fans are urged to preserve the viewing experience for others.
The full letter from Director Hwang ends with sincere thanks:
“I sincerely hope this final installment will live up to the love you’ve shown us and the long wait you’ve endured… Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued interest and love.”
‘Squid Game 3’ will premiere worldwide on June 27.
