At the 2025 Grammys, Doechii secured just one award, but it was a significant milestone. She became only the third female artist to win Best Rap Album, a realization that fully dawned on her as she delivered her acceptance speech for her debut full-length album, Alligator Bites Never Heal.
Following her heartfelt and historic speech—paired with a show-stopping Grammy performance that may go down as one of the greatest in the event’s history—the album is now surging up the Billboard charts.
This week, Alligator Bites Never Heal appears on four Billboard charts, making a comeback on one and climbing on three others, as both longtime listeners and new fans dive into the record.
As the album gains traction, it reaches new peak positions on every chart it currently occupies. Given that this is Doechii’s first official album, she also achieves career-high placements across all relevant lists this week.
The album secures a top 10 spot on half of the Billboard charts where it is currently ranked. On the Top Rap Albums chart, the innovative project makes a massive leap from No. 18 to No. 3. A similar surge occurs on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, where it climbs from No. 21 to No. 5.
Following the Grammys, Alligator Bites Never Heal experienced a resurgence in popularity on major streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, as reflected in its performance on Billboard’s Top Streaming Albums chart.
After being absent from the ranking last week, the album reappears and achieves its highest placement yet at No. 13.
On the Billboard 200, the album lands just one position below its Top Streaming Albums peak. Coming in at No. 14, Alligator Bites Never Heal brings Doechii closer than ever to the top 10 on the comprehensive ranking of the nation’s biggest albums. If her momentum continues, she could soon secure her first top 10 entry on the highly competitive list.
Doechii’s breakout hit from the album, “Denial is a River,” is also making waves on the charts. The song currently holds a place on 15 different rankings, reaching new peaks across all of them. This includes its debut on the Digital Song Sales chart, while it climbs higher on the remaining 14 lists.
Meanwhile, another track from the album, “Nissan Altima,” is also gaining traction. The song makes its debut on two of the three Billboard charts it currently appears on, while securing a new peak within the top 40 on another.
