In the midst of the runaway success of their viral country duet “You Look Like You Love Me,” Ella Langley has finally addressed the swirling rumors about her relationship with fellow country star Riley Green.
Despite undeniable chemistry on stage and in their music, Langley put the speculation to rest with a direct statement:
“We’re not dating. We’re just good friends.”
Langley and Green’s musical partnership began when she joined his Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour, and their duet quickly became a standout moment for fans.
The song, which appears on Langley’s debut album Hungover, has been climbing both the Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts, even breaking some traditional radio rules with its unique structure — notably lacking sung verses.
Yet it resonated deeply with listeners, due in no small part to the pair’s amazing stage presence and vocal synergy.

Their performance of the track at various shows led to intense fan speculation. The lyrics, paired with heartfelt delivery, made it easy to assume there might be a real-life romance behind the music.
But Langley, speaking to Taste of Country ahead of the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards — where the duet was nominated for Best Collaboration Song — cleared things up with charm and clarity.
She explained that their connection goes way back to the bar scene in Alabama, where both artists got their start.
“Riley was probably the first famous person I ever met,” she said. “He was playing all the same bars I went to.”
While their relationship is strictly platonic, it’s far from over creatively. Langley and Green are continuing their collaboration with a new song titled “Don’t Mind If I Do,” which they’re expected to perform during Green’s Damn Country Music Tour in 2025.
In a playful promotional video for the tour, the two are seen together in a car, evoking the charm of Smokey and the Bandit, further fueling fans’ excitement — and perhaps, again, speculation.
Still, Langley has made it clear that the focus remains on the music. The success of their duet has been a transformative experience for both artists, opening creative doors and setting new expectations.
Langley expressed gratitude for the momentum the song has brought, saying it’s allowed her to trust her instincts more and write from a place of authenticity.
As for the dating rumors, fans may be disappointed to learn that this is simply a story of strong musical chemistry, not a country love story.
But given their shared Southern roots, genuine friendship, and clear artistic connection, it’s safe to say Langley and Green will keep making magic together — on stage, if not off.
