The new mid-form drama Hunter with a Scalpel launched on June 16 under LG Uplus’s STUDIO X+U, quickly attracting attention for its bold and intense storytelling.

The series focuses on forensic pathologist Seo Se Hyeon (Park Ju Hyun), who discovers that a serial killer known as “The Tailor” — her father, believed dead for 20 years — is behind a series of brutal murders.

To survive, she must race against time alongside Detective Jung Jung Hyun (Kang Hoon) to catch him first.

Key Highlights:

  • Based on the novel by Choi Yi Do.
  • Unique 30-minute episodes for fast, impactful storytelling.
  • Park Ju Hyun portrays a genius but sociopathic pathologist.
  • Park Yong Woo plays the chilling serial killer father, while Kang Hoon takes on the role of a dedicated violent crimes detective.
  • The series was recognized internationally at the 8th Cannes International Series Festival before its Korean release.
  • Notable for its unfiltered portrayal of crime and psychological depth.

Park Ju Hyun trained physically for the role to embody her sharp, intense character, even participating in a triathlon reality show.

Park Yong Woo researched real-life serial killers to capture the cold, empathic nature of his role.

The drama airs Monday through Thursday on U+tv, U+MobileTV, and Disney+, and is already being hailed as a gripping psychological thriller that breaks the mold of traditional K-dramas.
