Earlier this year, there were reports suggesting that Prime’s animated superhero series Invincible had been renewed for both seasons 4 and 5. While it was later confirmed that this information was inaccurate, the positive update is that Invincible has now indeed been officially renewed for a fourth season.
This announcement was made during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con that spotlighted Prime Video’s adult animation lineup, including shows like Hazbin Hotel, Foodtopia, Vox Machina, and Invincible.
During the panel, creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman discussed the joys of working in animation and his enthusiasm for transforming his comic into an animated series. He also offered a preview of the upcoming third season and hinted at a darker suit for the main character.
Kirkman wrapped up his segment by mentioning that while he cannot yet reveal a release date for season 3, it will not be long before such details are disclosed. He also confirmed that Invincible has been officially renewed for a fourth season.
In addition to Invincible, the panel revealed that Hazbin Hotel will receive both a third and fourth season, and Sausage Party: Foodtopia is set to return for a second season.
So far, Invincible has received positive reviews, with season 1 rated 8/10 and season 2 rated 7/10. The review praised season 2 for highlighting its strongest elements despite a somewhat disjointed structure, noting that it leaves a lasting impact.
