Jennifer Lopez has plenty to celebrate. On Monday, January 20, Lopez, 55, took to her Instagram Stories to share the exciting news that her wrestling drama Unstoppable had claimed the top spot among all movies streaming worldwide on Prime Video who captured an image of the post.
“Thank you to everyone for watching, especially my incredible fans,” Lopez wrote in the caption of the post. She tagged her costar Jharrel Jerome, as well as the film’s real-life subject Anthony Robles and her ex-husband Ben Affleck’s production company, Artists Equity, which produced the film.
Unstoppable tells the inspiring true story of Anthony Robles, a wrestler born with only one leg, who went on to win the 2011 NCAA wrestling championship in the 125-lb. weight class while competing for Arizona State University.
The film is based on Robles’ 2013 memoir of the same name. Lopez portrays Robles’ mother, Judy, while Jerome, 27, plays Robles himself.
The movie also features Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, and Don Cheadle in key roles. Unstoppable had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2024.
As of Tuesday, January 21, Prime Video listed Unstoppable at No. 3 among its top 10 most popular films in the U.S.
The film is one of several movies produced by Affleck and Matt Damon’s company, Artists Equity, before Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in August, ending their two-year marriage.
Lopez and Affleck finalized their divorce on January 6. Another film that Lopez starred in, also produced by Artists Equity, Kiss of the Spider Woman, is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later this month.
Lopez also shared an Instagram post on January 18, discussing Unstoppable’s message of resilience, along with a short video showcasing the efforts of a young student athlete who plays softball with a mechanical leg.
“Anthony Robles’ Unstoppable true story of resilience and overcoming obstacles is something that I believe may inspire many people,” Lopez wrote in the caption.
“I’ve done a lot of movies in my career and I’m extremely proud to have been part of bringing this one to life.
Here’s one of the #UnstoppableStories that moves me, and I hope it inspires you too. Sending hope and love to all.” Unstoppable is now streaming on Prime Video.
