Joe Amabile is one of many fans disappointed by the news that The Bachelorette won’t be returning this summer.
“[It’s] so lame. I don’t like it,” Joe, 38, exclusively told while discussing his new partnership with Eroxon.
Earlier this month, Deadline reported that ABC had decided to skip a cycle of The Bachelor spinoff—typically airing in May or July—to instead focus on Bachelor in Paradise’s long-awaited return for season 10. (BiP had previously skipped its 2024 summer cycle.)
“I, honestly, I don’t know why it happened,” Joe admitted. “I mean, maybe the outcomes? [But before Jenn Tran], Charity [Lawson] had a happy ending. Charity was a great Bachelorette. She’s in a successful relationship. I mean, Jenn’s season kind of ended in a rough way, but that happens.”
Is the Franchise Oversaturated?
When Us Weekly suggested that airing five shows—The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, The Golden Bachelor, and The Golden Bachelorette—in a single year might be too much, Joe agreed.
“I think you could be correct on that. I just think The Bachelorette is still one of their better shows,” he said, noting that while he prefers The Bachelorette over one of the senior spin-offs, he wouldn’t rank it above Paradise—the franchise that led him to meet his wife, Serena Pitt, in 2021.
As for who should be the next Bachelorette if he were in charge? Joe didn’t hesitate.
“Maria,” he said, referring to Bachelor season 28 standout Maria Georgas. “Bring her on. Let’s go. Let’s have fun.”
Joe’s Take on Grant Ellis as the New Bachelor
While The Bachelorette may be on pause for now, Joe is still tuning in to Grant Ellis’ season of The Bachelor—and he’s impressed.
“Grant, so far so good. I like Grant,” he shared. “I really like the way he’s handling all the tough conversations. I think he’s doing a really good job.”
Joe’s New Partnership with Eroxon
Beyond reality TV, Joe has been busy partnering with Eroxon to promote their erectile dysfunction (ED) treatment gel and the company’s new AI chatbot, Ed.
“I have talked to the AI ChatBot, Ed. He’s fantastic. And I think, you know, guys on a golf course, guys in a locker room, everybody’s bragging about how much sex they have—but nobody wants to talk about their issues,” Joe explained. “And I think having [Ed] really allows you to be vulnerable and ask questions that you wouldn’t really ask your friends.”
Joe emphasized the importance of open discussions about ED.
“It’s great to have these conversations with your friends or partner. I feel like talking about ED has been so taboo for so long. I feel like guys don’t love having the conversation,” he said.
“I was really interested in finding out that one in four men over 18 suffer from it. I personally don’t, but I am getting older. So I just think the more knowledge, the better.”
