The 50-year-old actress, who has faced ongoing accusations of undergoing plastic surgery, addressed the persistent speculation, urging people to refrain from harassing her.
After a recent return to the red carpet following a health scare, the Underworld actress took to Instagram to confront the haters who have repeatedly accused her of cosmetic procedures.
In a video that has since been deleted, Beckinsale emphatically denied ever undergoing any cosmetic alterations, including Botox and fillers. Here’s what she had to say, according.
Kate Beckinsale began her address by saying she was impelled to speak out after being relentlessly bullied for her appearance. She said:
“I hate talking about this because I hate adding to this conversation, but I’m doing it because insidious bullying of any kind over time takes a toll.”
The British actress further expressed her frustration, revealing that every time she shares a video or image, she faces accusations of undergoing unrecognizable surgery, using Botox, or relying on fillers to maintain her appearance.
She denounced these accusations as a “tiresome and subtly vicious” form of bullying directed towards her.
Kate Beckinsale Denies Plastic Surgery Allegations
Beckinsale reiterated her denial of ever undergoing surgery, emphasizing that despite having a doctor confirm the truth of her statements, her comments continued to be inundated with derisive messages.
She continued,
“I don’t actually do any of those things -I’ve even gone to the trouble of having a plastic surgeon categorically state that I don’t and haven’t, and still, every time there’s a chorus of my God, you’re unrecognizable… it happens constantly, and it’s usually women that are doing it.”
Beckinsale candidly revealed that while she once grappled with fear about aging, acknowledging,
“I spent most of my teenage years and a good deal of my 20s absolutely crippled with severe anxiety and panic attacks,” she has since come to terms with the inevitability of aging.
Reflecting on her journey, Beckinsale noted the irony in accusations of her getting older when, in reality, she never expected to live as long, given her father’s untimely passing at a young age.
Expressing gratitude for her continued existence, she concluded her post by urging people to refrain from posting hateful comments.
