Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock reunited on Tuesday to celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of their most iconic films, “Speed.”
The duo attended a special screening of the 1994 action hit at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles, hosted at the American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre.
Joining them onstage was the film’s director, Jan de Bont, as they reminisced about their time working on the movie.
“Speed” features Reeves as Officer Jack Traven and Bullock as Annie Porter, two unlikely heroes on a bus that is rigged to explode if its speed drops below a certain point.
During the event, de Bont revealed that a total of 11 buses were used in the making of the film, prompting Reeves to humorously comment on the overwhelming number of cameras used during production.
“I counted 22 cameras once in the front,” Reeves recalled in a clip shared on social media.
“In front of us, there would be like 22 cameras. There’d be like one camera for Sandra’s hand. One camera for when I turned.”
The undeniable on-screen chemistry between Reeves and Bullock in “Speed” was a highlight of the 1994 film. The two actors reunited 12 years later for the romantic drama “The Lake House.”
The success of “Speed” even led to a sequel, and earlier this year, both Reeves and Bullock made an appearance on the “50 MPH” podcast to discuss the film.
During the podcast, they hinted that they wouldn’t be opposed to starring in a potential “Speed 3.”
“I mean, you know — we’d freakin’ knock it out of the park,” Reeves enthusiastically stated on the podcast.
