What to expect from the Rock the Country tour
Kid Rock made it clear that Rock The Country is for people who love America and are willing to give back to the nation, stressing that Small Town America is a party place.
The festival aims to bring the energy and vibrancy of a major music festival to less populated areas of the nation, according to Shane Quick, president of touring and strategic expansion for LiveCo, who made this explanation in the press release. Fans can look forward to a weekend filled with exceptional performances, delectable cuisine, and a small-town community spirit, according to Quick.
According to a press release from 46 Entertainment President Nathan Baugh, the festival offers a unique experience while also giving back to the local communities. He expressed their excitement about creating an occasion that combines the best musical talent with the charm of small-town America, and they look forward to having fans accompany them on this important musical adventure.
According to Baugh, Rock the Country is more than just a festival; it’s a celebration of community, music, and the shared love of country music that binds everyone together.
Throughout his career, Aldean, who has been named Artist of the Decade and Entertainer of the Year by the Academy of Country Music three times, has achieved 28 No. 1 hits. Kid Rock rose to fame in the 1990s with hits in the rap-rock genre before moving into country-rock.
Kid Rock and Jason Aldean got caught up in controversy
The festival tour comes in the wake of recent Aldean and Kid Rock scandals. After the release of his May chart-topping song “Try That in a Small Town,” Aldean encountered criticism during the summer.
Through the lyrics, he was accused by critics of encouraging racism and violence. In addition, the song’s music video was recorded in Columbia, Tennessee, the site of a lynching that occurred in 1927, which is Aldean’s hometown.
Aldean asserted that “there were people of all colors doing things in the video” in a recent interview with CBS Mornings. “There were white people in there,” he said, underscoring the diversity of representation. Black people were present. I mean, no particular group was singled out in this video and told to “that’s the problem.” And whoever saw that in the video wasn’t paying close enough attention.”
The artist also mentioned that the video was recorded at the Maury County Courthouse, the location of the nearly century-old lynching of 18-year-old Black man Henry Choate. When filming the clip, Aldean clarified that he was not aware of the building’s historical significance. He also acknowledged that he would “most likely not” choose to film there again.
In spite of the criticism, Aldean maintained that he would “make the same choice every time… excluding the location, given what I know now, of course, knowing that it would become an issue.” He also stood by his decision to release the song.
“I know why the location, the song, the video, everything is the way it is. And I still stand by all of that,” he said.
