Akio Ōtsuka has joined the cast of Onigunsō’s Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari anime as Kushige, a tsukumogami residing alongside Botan.
Additionally, the Sho-Pro YouTube channel treats fans to two enticing music videos. The first video previews “Ta ga Tame,” the second season’s opening theme, sung by Megatera Zero. Meanwhile, the second video highlights “rebind,” the first season’s closing theme by TRUE. These videos also feature snippets from the anime series.
The second season premiered on July 3, following the first season’s premiere on January 9, with Crunchyroll bringing the series to global audiences, excluding Asia, in January.
Blending Japanese mythology and folklore in a way did before, Malevolent Spirits revolves around the main character, Hyōma Kunato, as he fights his spite regarding ‘Tsukumogami’ and learns how to live amongst the spirits that ruined his life.
The announcement and release of the first season brought fans back and hooked on the series once again. Filled with action, mystery, and supernatural scenes, the series has established itself as a manga worth a read, and now, we look forward to what the anime can deliver.
