Solar, the talented main vocalist of MAMAMOO, is set to release a solo rendition of her previously released Chinese-language single, Floating Free (Solar Ver.).
Announced on July 1 through her official social media accounts, the new solo version is scheduled for release at midnight on July 4 KST.
The cover image shared depicts Solar with a wistful expression against a rainy cityscape, evoking deep emotional resonance that complements the mood of the song.
Originally launched as a duet with Taiwanese indie singer-songwriter 9m88 on June 11, Floating Free has now been reimagined as a solo performance by Solar.

Her clear and tender vocals float gracefully over retro-style synthesizer sounds, blurring the lines between dream and reality and delivering a heartfelt expression that transcends cultural and language barriers through the universal power of music.
The duet version of Floating Free enjoyed significant success in Taiwan, topping the iTunes Top Songs chart, the KKBOX Top Trending Songs chart, and reaching #2 on YouTube Music’s trending videos.
Solar further cemented her connection with her Taiwanese fans by holding a press conference attended by major media outlets, followed by a solo fan concert that was highly praised.
Notably, Solar conducted the entire concert in Chinese without an interpreter, showcasing her dedication and sincerity in engaging with her international audience.
The release of Floating Free (Solar Ver.) marks a significant milestone in Solar’s expanding solo career and her increasing global appeal.
Alongside the digital release, the solo version will also be available as a physical album starting July 4, offering fans a tangible way to enjoy this emotionally rich track.
This new solo release is expected to draw further attention to Solar’s unique artistic style and continued growth as a global solo artist.
