Mark Wahlberg’s dramatic bald transformation is still making waves! On Thursday, January 23, the 53-year-old actor shared new photos of his hairless look from his upcoming movie, Flight Risk.
Wahlberg reposted images from former hockey player Tie Domi on his Instagram Stories, showing himself in the hair and makeup chair while having artificial blood applied to his nose.
The images revealed Wahlberg with hair on the sides of his head but a large bald spot on top as he chatted with Domi, 55, over FaceTime.
More photos showcased Wahlberg’s partially shaved head, covered in slight stubble, before he later revealed a completely smooth look.
“He is the hardest working guy in Hollywood, worth a date night to go to the movie theater,” Domi wrote.
Wahlberg’s Instagram Stories followed a video he previously shared of the moment he shaved his head.
“What the f— you lookin’ at?” he jokingly said in the clip before adding, “It’s gonna come back.” He captioned the post: “Check out @flightriskmovie, keeping it real, no bald cap, NO CAP.”
Fans quickly chimed in with reactions, with one commenting, “More like Mark Baldberg,” while another suggested, “Should be your new profile pic.”
The actor first debuted his bald look on Instagram on July 3, 2024, posting a photo alongside his stylist with the caption, “No bald cap for me, we go all in.”
Directed by Mel Gibson, Flight Risk stars Wahlberg as a pilot tasked with transporting a U.S. Marshal (Michelle Dockery) and a prisoner (Topher Grace) across Alaska. As the journey unfolds, tensions rise, revealing that not everyone on board is who they appear to be.
In a June 2024 interview, Wahlberg opened up about his transformation for the film.
“There was no bald cap. I shaved the middle and left the horseshoe around the sides. We just shaved it,” he explained.
“They would shave the top as close to the scalp as possible every day, obviously, because we didn’t want any stubble. So I just hid it with a hat.”
Recalling his wife Rhea Durham’s reaction, he added, “The most priceless thing was seeing my wife’s face when I took my hat off after getting the haircut for work that day.”
