Since Marvel Studios’ triumphant return to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con last month, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been on a winning streak.
Robert Downey Jr. has rejoined the Marvel fold, Deadpool and Wolverine have been dominating the box office, and there’s buzz that a long-awaited Channing Tatum Gambit project might finally be happening.
To top it off, as Marvel celebrates its 85th anniversary this year, the comic book powerhouse has released a new video honoring nearly a century of superheroes and epic battles.
The video includes brief, exciting glimpses of several upcoming projects, such as Thunderbolts, Daredevil: Born Again, Captain America: Brave New World (featuring Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk), and more. You can check it out below:
Excelsior, Stan — Excelsior, indeed! While much of the celebration video focuses on Marvel’s humble beginnings in print media with legends like Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Steve Ditko, and reflects on how a world born from ink and color has evolved into a cinematic universe that fills theaters worldwide, the latter half of the video teases what’s next for our favorite on-screen heroes and villains.
There’s a fresh look at David Harbour, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and the rest of the Thunderbolts team in full costume; a dark, crimson-tinged shot of Charlie Cox as Daredevil in Daredevil: Born Again;
A glimpse of Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart soaring through traffic in her upcoming Disney+ series; and most thrilling of all, an official first look at Harrison Ford in full Red Hulk mode from Captain America: Brave New World.
(It’s still hard to believe that Indiana Jones, Han Solo, and Deckard himself is now the MCU’s Red Hulk — but here we are!)
With the WandaVision spin-off Agatha: All Along set to debut on Disney+ next month, the possibility of an Ultron return in the MCU, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s slate shaping up as the Multiverse Saga races towards its grand finale with Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Things are once again looking up for Kevin Feige and the Marvel team.
