Michael B. Jordan is reuniting with director Ryan Coogler for his latest film project. Warner Bros.
Pictures has released the first trailer for Coogler’s new movie, Sinners, which features Jordan, 37, playing dual roles as twin brothers who face a sinister force in their hometown.
The official synopsis for Sinners, which also stars Hailee Steinfeld, describes the film as “a new vision of fear” and includes a chilling quote from the teaser: “You keep dancing with the devil, one day he’s gonna follow you home.”
The film’s synopsis elaborates: “Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start over, only to find that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”
Sinners first drew media attention in January 2024 when The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Coogler wrote the then-untitled project as a completely original work, marking his first since 2013’s Fruitvale Station, which also featured Jordan.
Warner Bros. Pictures confirmed the film’s title in a social media announcement on Monday, Sept. 23, with the caption, “Sinners are coming.”
This film represents Coogler’s first directorial effort since 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
It continues the collaboration between Coogler, 38, and Jordan, who previously starred as Adonis Creed in Coogler’s 2015 film Creed and as the villain Killmonger in the 2018 original Black Panther.
In the trailer, Steinfeld, 27, makes a brief appearance during a dance scene. This film marks her first role since her cameo in Marvel’s 2023 movie The Marvels.
Sinners also stars Delroy Lindo and Jack O’Connell and is set to be released in theaters on March 7, 2025.
