Former Australian Test cricketer and commentator Michael Slater is currently in custody following his arrest on eight charges, including assault and one count of breaching bail.
The 54-year-old is facing charges of assault occasioning bodily harm, strangulation, unlawful stalking, entering a dwelling by break at night, and four counts of common assault.
Mr. Slater’s case was briefly addressed on Monday in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
He did not appear, and no plea was entered.
Duty lawyer Michael Robinson informed the court that inquiries would be made regarding a rehabilitation facility.
Mr. Slater has been remanded in custody, and the case has been adjourned until Tuesday, with a bail application expected.
The former batsman featured in 74 Test matches and 42 one-day internationals for Australia, debuting in 1993.
