Miley Cyrus has officially released her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, on May 30, marking a significant milestone in her musical career. The Grammy-winning singer announced that the album will be accompanied by a complete visual film, premiering June 6 at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Co-produced by Cyrus and Shawn Everett, the album features notable collaborations, including Brittany Howard on “Walk of Fame” and Naomi Campbell on “Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved.” The release further highlights the artistic involvement of Cyrus’ boyfriend Maxx Morando, adding a personal touch to the introspective and emotionally grounded project.
Miley Cyrus Celebrates Album Release with Unique Visuals and Psychedelic Storytelling Film
Cyrus teased the album’s release via Instagram on May 29, calling the moment “heaven” as she celebrated with loved ones. The singer also debuted a new music video for the track “Easy Lover,” which offered fans a taste of the album’s visual counterpart. In the video, Cyrus performs a choreographed routine dressed in archival Mugler pieces from the 1992 collection—garments older than she is.

The visual project, which will accompany the full album, was directed by Cyrus, Brendan Walter, Jacob Bixenman, and acclaimed filmmaker Panos Cosmatos, promising a rich multimedia experience for fans.
Cyrus recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss the visual aspect of the album, emphasizing that the film lacks a traditional storyline. Instead, she said, the music itself serves as the narrative. “Every song is storytelling,” Cyrus explained, adding that there was no need for characters since she is the character. With a psychedelic and over-the-top aesthetic, the film captures Cyrus’ signature artistic style while keeping the focus on authentic musical expression.
From Grammy Glory to Bold Experimentation: Miley Cyrus Ushers in a New Era
This new album follows her critically acclaimed 2023 release Endless Summer Vacation, which earned her six Grammy nominations and two wins, including Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for the global hit “Flowers.”
Cyrus began building anticipation for Something Beautiful in March with the release of visuals for songs like “End of the World” and “More to Lose.” The steady stream of content leading up to the album’s launch reflects her commitment to blending storytelling through both audio and visual mediums.
In a recent interview on Apple Music 1’s The Zane Lowe Show, Cyrus shared that receiving Grammys was a healing experience and a moment of validation for her artistry.
She also hinted that Something Beautiful is merely a prelude to her next project, which she described as “extremely experimental.” As fans await what comes next, the visual film for Something Beautiful will be shown in U.S. and Canadian theaters starting June 12, offering an immersive extension of the album experience.
