The sequel to the 2016 hit film brings Moana and Maui back together for another thrilling adventure. “Moana 2” is set three years after their courageous quest to save Moana’s people.

As described on Disney’s website, “After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.”

This new adventure introduces some exciting new characters, including Loto, Moni, and Kele. However, the journey won’t be without its challenges.

The trailer also gives fans their first look at the film’s villain, Matangi, voiced by Awhimai Fraser, as reported by Comic Book Resources.

“Now I kind of miss the lava monster,” Maui quips in the trailer.

While the villain’s motivations remain unclear, fans of the franchise won’t have to wait long to uncover the mystery. “Moana 2” is set to hit theaters on Nov. 27.
