Rachel Accurso, widely recognized as the pink headband–wearing Ms. Rachel, recently provided some insight into her absence from YouTube.
In response to a fan’s question in the comments section of an Instagram post about her husband, Aron Accurso, shared on Wednesday, March 19, the 42-year-old children’s content creator addressed concerns about her whereabouts.
The fan inquired, “When are we getting more episodes? I feel like since you’ve signed with Netflix we don’t really get good content anymore …”
Ms. Rachel replied, “I’m sorry. We’ve had some family things to attend to. Nothing to do with Netflix, as that is content from YouTube.” She further reassured another follower by saying, “I will make a little video tomorrow to help.”
The beloved educator has not uploaded a new video to her “Songs for Littles” YouTube channel in two months.
Her most recent upload, “Hide and Seek with Ms. Rachel & Elmo + More Games, Kids Songs, Nursery Rhymes & Social Skills,” has garnered an impressive 40 million views.
Ms. Rachel, a well-known figure among parents and young children, recently secured a deal with Netflix, which released four educational episodes ranging from 30 to 60 minutes in January.
However, her primary platform remains YouTube, where she launched “Songs for Littles” in 2019.
The channel, which now boasts 14 million subscribers, is dedicated to early childhood development, emphasizing speech, language, and social-emotional skills.
Her motivation for creating the channel stemmed from her son, Thomas, now 6, who experienced a speech delay as a toddler. Struggling to find suitable content to aid his development, she decided to create her own.
“His first word was at 2 years and 8 months and it was ‘mama,’ and I had waited for that for so long,” Ms. Rachel shared.
“As a parent you want to do anything you can to help them and it’s not our fault when our child has a speech delay. A lot of things I teach are things I wish I had known for my son.”
Ms. Rachel collaborates closely with her husband, Aron, who is a composer and serves as the associate music director for Aladdin on Broadway.
“My co-creator, co-pilot, and co-producer — working tirelessly behind the scenes. There’s no Ms. Rachel without Mr. Aron. @aronaccurso,” she expressed in her Wednesday Instagram post, which featured photos of the couple. “Thank you for making my dreams come true, babe!
Fans flooded the comments section, not only requesting more episodes but also showering the couple with praise. “Beautiful couple! Thank you @aronaccurso for supporting this beautiful human. You have both made the world a better place on so many fronts,” one fan commented.
Another wrote, “Beautiful! The right person makes you SPARKLE and it is clear Aaron has supported you to get to where you are today. Love it so much!”
Ms. Rachel has also earned admiration from celebrities, including Robert De Niro. The 81-year-old actor shared that he starts his mornings watching her videos with his baby daughter, Gia.
“I’m an early riser,” he told in January. “I’ve got a 19-month-old baby. I spend my mornings watching Ms. Rachel with her, and I give her her bottle.”
Drew Barrymore is another high-profile fan, having welcomed Ms. Rachel to her talk show in September 2024. “You have really changed the world,” the 50-year-old actress told her during the appearance.
