Netflix has announced that Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike will star in Ladies First, a comedy directed by Thea Sharrock.
The film is an adaptation of the French movie Je Ne Suis Pas Un Homme Facile, directed by Eleonore Pourriat.
The script for Ladies First is written by Katie Silberman (Booksmart), Natalie Krinsky (The Broken Hearts Gallery), and Cinco Paul (Schmigadoon!).
Baron Cohen takes on the role of an unapologetic womanizer who ends up in a parallel universe where women hold power. Rosamund Pike’s character, a strong-willed woman, further complicates his situation.
The project is produced by Liza Chasin of 3dot Productions, in collaboration with Netflix.
Chasin is also working on other Netflix films, including Lonely Plane with Laura Dern and The Life List starring Sofia Carson.
Additional producers for Ladies First include Eleonore Dailly, Edouard de Lachomette, and Four By Two Films.
Baron Cohen, who recently appeared in The Trial of the Chicago 7 on Netflix and received an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Abbie Hoffman, will also star alongside Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline in Alfonso Cuarón’s upcoming Apple TV+ series Disclaimer. He is represented by CAA.
Pike, known for her recent role in Saltburn, will also be seen in the third season of Wheel of Time, as well as in Thumblite, Now You See Me 3, and her National Theatre debut in Inter Alia. She is represented by CAA, United Agents, and Magnolia Entertainment.
Sharrock, whose previous works include The Beautiful Game, Me Before You, and Wicked Little Letters, is also represented by CAA.
