Nicolas Cage is spending time with his middle child. The 60-year-old actor was spotted in Venice, Italy, on July 17, during a rare outing with his son, Kal-El Coppola.
The father-son pair was seen strolling through the streets of the Italian city.
Cage sported a colorful outfit with a matching shirt and shorts set, while his 18-year-old son wore a black T-shirt and black pants. Both donned black sunglasses during their European adventure.
Cage shares Kal-El with his third wife, Alice Kim. The couple were married for 12 years before separating in January 2016.
In addition to Kal-El, the National Treasure star has a 33-year-old son, Weston Coppola, with Christina Fulton, and a 1-year-old daughter, August Francesca Coppola Cage, with his wife, Riko Shibata, whom he welcomed in September 2022.
Kal-El’s name was inspired by Cage’s fascination with Superman, as Kal-El is the superhero’s Kryptonian name.
Cage was initially cast to play Superman in Tim Burton’s movie, which was ultimately canceled.
In July 2021, Cage attended the Los Angeles premiere of his movie Pig with both of his sons, where they posed for a family photograph.
In a 2022 interview, Cage emphasized that family is his top priority. He said, “First and foremost… there’s no version of Nick Cage in reality that doesn’t want to spend time with his children.”
He explained that he put his family above his career, even turning down roles in Lord of the Rings and The Matrix because he didn’t want to be away from his son Weston for extended periods.
In an interview that same year, Cage expressed his excitement about raising another child now that his sons are grown.
“My boys are all grown up, and I miss going to the toy store. I miss singing lullabies and rocking in the rocking chair. I’m looking forward to getting back to that,” he shared.
