One of the most thrilling anime releases in recent years, Oshi no Ko, has officially been confirmed for a third season.
Immediately following the broadcast of the season 2 finale, the anime’s official social media accounts announced that the series would be returning for more episodes.
Fans were also treated to an exciting new teaser and the confirmation of two major cast additions: Mamoru Miyano will voice Hikaru Kamiki, and Hina Kino will take on the role of Tsukuyomi.
Though a release date for season 3 has yet to be revealed, the anticipation is already building.
Based on the manga by Aka Akasaka, Oshi no Ko tells the story of a doctor and his recently deceased patient who are reincarnated as twins born to a famous Japanese pop idol. As they grow up, they face the highs and lows of the entertainment industry.
The anime adaptation is directed by Daisuke Hiramaki, with character designs by Kanna Hirayama and a musical score by Takuro Iga.
While the first season of the anime received widespread praise, the second season has faced harsher criticism, with some fans feeling that the series has lost the unique qualities that made it stand out initially.
Will season 3 rise to meet the expectations? Only time will tell! In the UK, Oshi no Ko is available for streaming on HIDIVE.
