Park Yoo Chun has successfully defended himself against a lawsuit filed by the former CEO of Agency A, who claimed about USD 350,000 in unpaid fees and penalties.
On July 6, the Uijeongbu District Court dismissed the case, citing an arbitration clause in Yoo Chun’s contract that requires disputes to be resolved through the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB), not civil court.
The former agency head accused Park Yoo Chun of breach of contract, demanding 200 million KRW (around USD 145,000) in penalties and an additional 280 million KRW (around USD 205,000) for contract fees and expenses.
However, the court ruled that the arbitration agreement was binding and that the lawsuit violated this clause.
Additionally, the court noted that although Agency A has closed, it has not been legally dissolved, meaning the former CEO lacked the proper standing to claim compensation personally.
This ruling marks another legal victory for Park Yoo Chun amid his ongoing disputes with former agencies.
