Roman Reigns has emerged as the winner in the pay-per-view match of the WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022 event. This was organized on 8th May 2022 last Sunday. Roman is a part of the Bloodline trio along with Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso (The Usos). They together fought against the trio of Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, and Riddle (The RK-Bro) in the main event of the show. But the most fascinating part of the match was the face-off between McIntyre and Roman. McIntyre, who hails from Scotland, became the first-ever British WWE Champion in March 2020. Reigns have never lost any pay-per-view match since he lost to King Corbin at TLC on 15th December 2019. This is the first live event happening after the WrestleMania of last month. The Backlash event took place at the Dunkin Donuts Centre in Rhode Island.
The WrestleMania Backlash 2022
WrestleMania is considered one of the most prestigious championships in professional wrestling, which is the flagship event of WWE. The WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022 event featured six interesting matches that included the one between The Bloodline vs. Drew McIntyre and RK-Bro. There was an “I Quit” match also. It was played between Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Rousey emerged as the new WWE SmackDown Women’s champion in it.
This was the only match that was played for a title and included everything, from kendo sticks to fighting in the crowd. Even cameras were thrown during the game by the action-induced participants. Rousey made Charlotte hang upside down from the top turnbuckle and locked her in an armbar. They both later fell to the floor, breaking the hold. After securing the armbar using a steel chair, Rousey forced Charlotte to say “I Quit” and won the battle to become the new SmackDown champion in the women category.
The Plus Point
WrestleMania Backlash 2022 event has not just created some of the heated moments in the games but also has set the stage for some of the exciting smackdowns possible for the fans to be offered in the future. There is a possibility of the battle between Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns in the WWE Hell in a Cell event.
The Backlash match contained the Claymore Kick of McIntyre. Orton applied his mid-superman punch and RKO on Reigns making the audience in Dunkin’ Donuts Center his fan. Reigns delivered his judo throw known as Ura Nage on McIntyre through a table. This move was called the “Rock Bottom” move by Pat McAfee during the match.
The plus point of this particular match is that the game featured six of WWE’s most talented performers, and they all had something special to deliver to their audience. It had that old-school wrestling feel with a transparent story to follow.

Now let us talk about our champion, Roman Reigns a bit. He is an American wrestler and a former Gridiron football player, who is also known as North American football. Roman was born on 25th May 12, 2022. He is currently married to Galina Becker and has five children. Roman Reigns is the ring name of Leati Joseph “Joe” Anoaʻi and was signed to WWE as a smackdown wrestler in 2010. He is the current and the longest-reigning champion of the WWE universal championship and the current champion of the WWE championship.
Shortly after winning the WrestleMania Backlash 2022 for the Bloodline, Roman Reigns shared a short video on Twitter saying that anybody can rely on the Bloodline for a win-win outcome in the future. He mentions some of the legends of wrestling like Rock, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and John Cena along with Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre and says the Bloodline is capable of smashing them all. He adds “You can count on us”.

Earlier, after Roman’s speech at the WrestleMania 38 at Arlington, Texas in April 2022, his fans assumed him retiring from the wrestling world. This is because he was greeting his fans for their support and said that he wants to work on a new phase of his life. Later, some news reports cleared away these assumptions. Roman was talking only about his wrestling schedules just getting lighter in the coming WWE games.
