Satoshi Mizukami’s Sengoku Youko manga anime adaptation released four character videos at the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair event. The anime will debut in January 2024, airing on TOKYO MX, ABC TV, Mētele, and BS Asahi channels. The adaptation will consist of two arcs, the “Yo Naoshi Kyōdai-hen” (World Reform Siblings Arc) and “Sen Ma Konton-hen” (Thousand Demons Chaos Arc), spanning three cours (quarters of a year).
Additionally, manga enthusiasts can look forward to the upcoming release of Sengoku Youko Shinsōban (New Edition) in six volumes, starting on November 9, with cover illustrations by Mizukami himself.
Sengoku Youko takes us to a time and place where the world is divided between humans and monsters. Amidst this chaos, we follow the journey of a young protagonist who finds herself more fond of humans than her kind. The manga explores the battles the main characters face and the journey of her and her allies becoming stronger to conquer everything in their way.
In a world where the supernatural roams beneath the surface of reality, readers and viewers are invited to embark on a journey through a land where warriors clash, spirits walk, and destiny awaits.

The Plot
Meet Tama, an exceptional katawara (monster) who fights her kind to safeguard humans from evil forces. Standing by her side is Jinka, her conflicted brother with a hatred for humans despite his shared heritage. Together with the timid swordsman Shinsuke, they form an unlikely trio.
When their mission reveals an evil plot to transform humans into monsters, they pledge to destroy the mastermind behind it, even if it means facing an entire army of warriors. Throughout their journey, they’ll encounter individuals and breathtaking landscapes and engage in battles that will make them future legends.
Satoshi Mizukami’s approach to storytelling in Sengoku Youko is undoubtedly a departure from the typical action-oriented narrative. Instead of using betrayals as fuel for conflict, the series builds its foundation on creating an action-packed world that fosters heartwarming reunions among its characters, and we hope to see it in the anime.
