Taylor Swift has officially surpassed Rihanna to become the world’s richest female musician, with her net worth now estimated at an astounding $1.6 billion.
Swift’s financial rise was confirmed on Saturday, October 5th, when Forbes updated her net worth to account for her ever-growing fortune, fueled by the record-breaking success of her “Eras Tour” and the continued popularity of her music catalog.
With this update, Swift now holds the top spot among the richest female musicians — surpassing Rihanna’s $1.4 billion net worth — and ranks second on the list of the world’s wealthiest musicians. Only Jay-Z, valued at $2.5 billion, sits above her.
As noted when Swift first became a billionaire in October 2023, she is the only musician in history to reach a ten-figure net worth primarily through her music — a combination of recordings and live performances — rather than external business ventures.
Her current fortune includes $600 million from royalties and touring, another $600 million from her music catalog’s value, and $125 million in real estate holdings.
Swift has long been a fixture on lists of the wealthiest musicians, but her financial growth in recent years has been remarkable. In 2020, she was valued at $365 million, meaning she has generated more than $1.2 billion in the past four years alone.
While Swift has claimed the top spot, Rihanna still retains the title of “Richest Female Musician of All Time,” having once reached a peak net worth of $1.77 billion.
However, with Swift’s “Eras Tour” set to conclude later this year with its final dates in the US and Canada, it’s possible she could claim that title as well.
In other news, Swift recently endorsed Kamala Harris for president, a move that drew criticism from Donald Trump, who predicted that Swift would “pay a price” for her political stance.
It seems, however, that this is yet another one of Trump’s predictions that has not come to pass.
