Charlie Puth is known for his deep admiration of Taylor Swift, and recent events suggest that the feeling might be mutual. She recently gave a nod to Puth in the title track of her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
“You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate,” she sings in the love song. “We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist.”
Puth, recognized for chart-toppers like “One Call Away” and contributing vocals to Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again,” has openly showcased his admiration for Swift’s music.
His appreciation for Swift extends beyond mere fandom, as he has frequently covered her songs during live performances. Additionally, in 2022, a widely circulated video captured Puth praising Swift’s musical prowess.
“Sidebar, this has nothing to do with anything, but Taylor Swift is the queen of these types of chords,” he told attendees at his New York City concert as he played her song, “Teardrops on My Guitar.”

Puth and Swift’s connection extends beyond their roles as singer-songwriters. In his 2016 hit single “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” Puth collaborates with Swift’s close friend Selena Gomez.
Despite rumors suggesting a romantic involvement between Puth and Gomez, Gomez has consistently denied such claims.
Puth further affirmed their platonic relationship by tweeting at the time that he and Gomez were simply friends.
But in 2018, amid speculation that his song “Attention” was about Gomez, Puth told,
“I don’t kiss and tell, but the only way a song like [“We Don’t Talk Anymore”] can come across as real is if there’s something else going on behind the scenes.”
“And that’s what was happening [with Gomez]. Very short-lived, very small, but very impactful,” he told the source.
