Harry Potter star Tom Felton is joining forces with Katherine Waterston in the upcoming comedy film Fackham Hall.
Felton, widely known for portraying Draco Malfoy across all eight Harry Potter films, will appear alongside Waterston, who played American Auror Tina Goldstein in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and its two sequels.
Since his last turn as Malfoy, Felton has built a diverse portfolio, including roles in Rise of the Planet of the Apes and The CW’s The Flash.
Felton, Damian Lewis, and Ben Radcliffe have joined the cast of Fackham Hall, which already included Waterston, Thomasin McKenzie, and Emma Laird.
Described as a spoof comedy in the spirit of Airplane! and the Monty Python films, Fackham Hall centers on the charming pickpocket Eric Noone (played by Radcliffe), who takes up residence at the English estate of Fackham Hall.
In the story, Eric falls into a forbidden romance with Rose Davenport (McKenzie) and gets framed for a murder. Meanwhile, Archibald (Felton) becomes Eric’s rival as he competes for Rose’s affections.
With casting now complete, Fackham Hall is set to start principal photography this week in the UK and is on target for a late 2025 release.
Director Jim O’Hanlon explained, “We’ve assembled a stellar cast which would be the envy of any serious British period drama,” aligning with the film’s goal of delivering a comedy with the look and feel of a classic British period drama.
Draco Malfoy often serves as a foil to the heroes of Harry Potter, but there are a few memorable moments where he is put in his place.
In Fackham Hall, the humorous interactions among Felton, McKenzie, and Radcliffe’s characters are sure to stand out, with added chemistry from Waterston and Lewis, who portray Lady and Lord Davenport.
Although Felton and Waterston were both significant figures in the Wizarding World, they never crossed paths in that universe since Draco and Tina existed in different eras. Their interaction here as Archibald and Lady Davenport will offer a unique appeal for fans.
Draco and Tina weren’t comedic characters in the Wizarding World, which makes it all the more intriguing to see Felton and Waterston in a comedic, spoof-driven story.
While the other actors lack Harry Potter backgrounds, they bring their own appeal, including Radcliffe, recently seen in Masters of the Air on Apple TV+.
Fackham Hall is shaping up to be a must-watch in 2025, particularly for fans eager to see Harry Potter alumni in new, humorous roles.
