Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett have officially begun filming Verity! The upcoming psychological thriller is adapted from the novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover, the author of It Ends with Us.
Hathaway, 42, portrays author Verity Crawford, while Hartnett, 46, takes on the role of her husband, Jeremy Crawford.
In one of the images from the set, the on-screen couple is seen dressed in semi-formal attire, joyfully running hand-in-hand through the streets of New York City.

Leading the way, Hartnett sports an unfastened bow tie draped around the collar of his button-down shirt, while Hathaway carries her belongings in her free hand.
Casting for the Devil Wears Prada actress as Verity was announced in November 2024, followed by the announcement of The Trap actor’s involvement the next month.
Dakota Johnson is not only set to executive produce the Amazon MGM Studios adaptation but will also star as Lowen, a struggling writer who lands the “job offer of a lifetime” to complete Verity’s successful book series after a “mysterious accident” renders Verity unable to continue, according to the official synopsis.
Before casting was confirmed, Hoover, 45, spoke in August 2024 at the premiere of It Ends With Us—her first book-to-film adaptation—about the experience.
“Right now, they’re all just blurs in my head,” the best-selling author told the outlet at the time. “But I’m so excited that this one’s finally starting to take off.”
Originally self-published in 2018, Verity follows Lowen as she uncovers a dark family secret, making her question both her job and her safety.
“Upon arrival at the lavish Crawford estate, Lowen slowly learns that things are not exactly as they seem with the discovery of a secret, unfinished manuscript that may divulge chilling admissions about the family’s past.
As Lowen ingratiates herself with Jeremy and his young son Crew, she must discern if Verity’s writings are merely lurid works of fiction or an ominous warning by a deranged psychopath,” the synopsis states.
The film is set to be directed by Michael Showalter, who previously collaborated with Hathaway on Prime Video’s The Idea of You.
