Famous for their parts in “Step Brothers,” actors Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly wished Snoop Dogg a happy birthday during a special birthday celebration. Renowned for his hits like “Gin and Juice,” the 52-year-old rapper was present at Ferrell’s charity event, “Best Night of Your Life 2,” which took place in Los Angeles on Saturday.
What’s more, from the surprise bash
Snoop Dogg was pleasantly surprised with a birthday tribute while performing at the event. As part of the celebration, Ferrell presented him with a three-tier cake adorned with a blue bandana and a figurine of the rapper sitting on a throne.
While performing, Snoop Dogg used the birthday cake’s lit candles to relight his joints. John C. Reilly responded positively to this by saying, “That’s what I’m talking about.” The two “Step Brothers” then started singing “Happy Birthday,” inviting everyone to join in. In a thank-you Instagram post, Snoop Dogg wrote, “My brothers surprised me – Will and John.”
The evening started off with Snoop Dogg performing “Boats ‘N Hoes,” a song from the movie “Step Brothers,” alongside John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell. The crowd was also treated to a performance of Snoop’s 1994 hit song “Gin and Juice.”
A number of comedians and musicians, including Jack Black, Jon Stewart, Maya Rudolph, Beck, Fred Armisen, and others, performed at the charity event.
A backstage photo that Snoop posted on Instagram indicates that other well-known rappers, such as DJ Quik, LL Cool J, Ludacris, and Nas, made appearances at the charity concert that Will Ferrell hosted at the Greek Theatre. And the Sunday after that, Snoop shared a video of his birthday party with a casino theme and a barbeque menu.
More about Snoop Dogg
American rapper and actor Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. is better known by his stage name Snoop Dogg (formerly Snoop Doggy Dogg and, for a short while, Snoop Lion). In 1992, he made his debut as a celebrity by appearing on Dr. Dre’s first solo single, “Deep Cover,” and then on Dre’s first solo album, “The Chronic.”
Over 23 million albums have been sold by Broadus in the US and 35 million albums worldwide. His accomplishments include a Primetime Emmy Award, an American Music Award, and 17 Grammy Award nominations.
Dr. Dre produced Snoop Dogg’s debut solo album, “Doggystyle,” which Death Row Records released in November 1993. It accomplished the amazing feat of making its debut at the top of both the Billboard 200 chart and the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In its first week of sales, “Doggystyle” sold 800,000 copies, earning a quadruple-platinum certification in 1994.
Popular singles from this album included “What’s My Name?” and “Gin and Juice.” Death Row Records additionally released the soundtrack for Snoop’s short film “Murder Was the Case” in 1994.
With “Snoop’s Upside Ya Head” serving as the lead single, Snoop Dogg’s second album, “Tha Doggfather,” hit number one on both charts in 1996 after this success. The following year, the album went double platinum.
After visiting Jamaica in 2012, Snoop Dogg declared his religious conversion to Rastafari and took on the alias Snoop Lion. He produced a documentary film and a reggae album titled “Reincarnated” under this new identity, which detailed his experiences in Jamaica. He started going by Snoop Dogg again at the beginning of 2013. “Bush,” his thirteenth studio album, was released in May 2015. “Coolaid,” his fourteenth solo studio album, was released in July 2016.
