Knights of the Zodiac, the live-action adaptation of Masami Kurumada’s Saint Seiya manga, is anticipated to debut to a US$ 2.4 Million domestic gross as per box office websites like The Numbers and Box Office Mojo. So far, the film has opened in a few countries like Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Kenya, Latin America, and Romania, where it is called Saint Seiya: the Beginning.
Box Office Mojo reported that the movie earned US$1,377,754 gross in Mexico, US$173,731 in Colombia, US$310,680 in Japan, and US$45,554 in Romania. In the US, the movie is scheduled to screen on May 12.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Mackenyu is playing the franchise’s central character Seiya, a street orphan, in what is being touted as an original narrative. Seiya sets on a quest to conquer the Pegasus armor of ancient Greece after the mysterious force known as Cosmo arises within him. He also seeks to choose his side in a supernatural battle for the fate of Sienna, a young girl who struggles to control her heavenly abilities.
Bean portrays the character of Alman Kido, Seiya’s mentor, who enlists Seiya in the knight’s organization that he formed after the goddess reincarnation. To slay the vulnerable goddess Tinoco is hired.
Key changes to appear in Knights of the Zodiac adaptation
To be clear-cut, not all the materials in this movie will be taken from the source manga. The 2019’s first season of the Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya will serve as the basis of the new adaptation plotline. This new Netflix adaptation will include major deviations and new characters like Andromeda Shun’s gender swap and Seiya’s altered new background.
