Recently, sexual abuse allegations have been swirling around the band Rammstein. A woman from Northern Ireland recently spoke to the BBC, revealing that she was recruited and “groomed” for indulging in sexual activities with the lead singer of the German heavy metal band Rammstein.
Shelby Lynn, who alleges that her drink was also spiked during a concert in Vilnius in May when she went backstage, initially made these claims on social media before sharing her story with the BBC. She further claimed that the band’s lead singer Till Lindemann became furious and reacted aggressively when she rejected not to engage in any sexual activity with him.
The prosecutor’s office in Vilnius, Lithuania, has announced that it has not started an investigation into the sexual abuse case made against the band Rammstein. This was done after examining the circumstances surrounding the incident related to the Rammstein concert that took place in Vilnius on May 22.
The public prosecutor’s office found no evidence of the crime
The public prosecutor’s office claims that the police carried out an investigation that included questioning Shelby Lynn and a witness as well as the examination of data and documents relating to the incident. In their examination, they did not find any object or factual evidence to support the claims of physical or mental abuse against Shelby Lynn. Additionally, there was neither evidence of other acts of sexual violence or force related to the incident nor any evidence to testify that Lynn was forced to consume the drugs. It is important to note that the decision made by the public prosecutor’s office can still be challenged through the appeals process.

Responding to these announcements made by the public prosecutor’s office on social media, Lynn expressed that it is not a matter of surprise that the police in Vilnius declined to investigate, and that an investigation in Berlin is under process.
Meanwhile, both the lead singer Till Lindemann and the band Rammstein have consistently denied the accusations made against them.
Berlin shows to be canceled, demands petitions
With the sexual assault allegations revolving around the lead singer Till Lindemann and the band Rammstein, two petitions have been signed by almost 100,000 people combined. These petitions call for the cancellation of three Rammstein concerts scheduled for mid-July in Berlin.
One of the signatories stated, “The Rammstein concerts must be canceled! Berlin must not become a place for sexual abuse! We do not celebrate perpetrators!”

It has been reported that an investigation into the case has been initiated in Germany regarding the allegations against Lindemann. As a result, several politicians and public figures have shared their thoughts and opinions on the matter, expressing their views on the allegations.
Lisa Paus, German Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth, has expressed her belief that the accusations against Till Lindemann, the lead singer of Rammstein, may not be an isolated incident. “Without prejudging the specific case, the way I perceive the discussion, we have a structural problem in the concert scene that is now finally being talked about”, she said in the Bild am Sonntag newspaper. Paus points out that it is the responsibility of the organizers, particularly young fans, to take measures that ensure their protection and well-being.
Federal Government Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany and the Fight against Antisemitism, Felix Klein, shared his perspective on demand for the cancellation of the Rammstein concerts with the Funke Mediengruppe on Monday. He expressed concerns about whether the concerts should take place in the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, which is operated by the state.
