Dave Grohl shares his experience joining Nirvana

In a 2018 interview with VisitSeattle, Grohl shared his reflections on joining Nirvana. He revealed that his journey to the Emerald City began when he visited Seattle for the first time while touring with his band, Scream. Word has spread that Nirvana was looking for a drummer, and their interest in Grohl was piqued after witnessing his captivating live performances. Curiosity led Grohl to fly out to Seattle, where he had the opportunity to meet Cobain and Novoselic, ultimately marking the beginning of his unforgettable chapter with the iconic band.

Recalling their initial encounter, Novoselic shared his first impression of Grohl. Novoselic vividly remembers when he realized Grohl was the perfect fit for Nirvana. It became abundantly clear to them Within two minutes of witnessing Grohl’s drumming prowess. Grohl was so bright, so vital, so hot.

Dave Grohl’s Foo Fighters is coming up with a new album

At 17,  Grohl stepped into the world of punk rock when he joined the band Scream. This opportunity arose when the band’s previous drummer, Kent Stax, parted ways from the bar. Nirvana’s second album, Nevermind (1991), marked a significant milestone in  Grohl’s career as it was his drum debut for the band.

Following the disbandment of Nirvana after the death of its lead singer, Kurt Cobain, in April 1994, Grohl embarked on a new musical venture. With unwavering determination, he formed Foo Fighters as a one-person project. Among  Grohl’s many popular songs, his most loved songs are Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come as You Are, Something in the Way, Everlong,  Heart-Shaped Box, Learn To Fly, In Bloom, and The Pretender.
