The Plot
In the virtual world of the online game “Planet,” a powerful quartet known as “The Akabane Family,” a pseudo-family are the only residents of that world. These four members remain oblivious to the fact that they are a fractured family in reality.
A recluse elder brother, an accomplished younger sibling, a father disrespected by his family, and a neglectful mother together form this unlikely ensemble. They don’t know the meaning of a functional family, they remain unaware that the bond they share in the virtual world is temporary.
The story follows the family and their activities in the online game; battles against monsters, battles with other guilds, and the plot surrounding “Black Bird,” the final mission or quest of the game. The story throws in a major twist as it interweaves the real world and this real family.
Good Night World sounds like it is all about diving headfirst into the ups and downs of a family and their individual lives. Much like a rollercoaster, family means dealing with how we’re all isolated in our worlds, but pressured to be the star of the family while dealing with the awkward interactions in family ties.
The characters in Good Night World find their peace and belonging in this online game. They’re killing dragons and other creatures but also dealing with their real-life emotions. You would not want to miss out on this upcoming anime, which promises to keep us glued from the get-go.
