Amy Robach was born in St. Joseph, Michigan, but she grew up in East Lansing, Michigan, before her family relocated to St. Louis, Missouri. Later, they moved again to Georgia, where she attended high school and college. She graduated with high honors in broadcasting journalism from the University of Georgia after completing her education at Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia. In 1995, she participated in the Miss Georgia pageant and secured the position of 4th runner-up.
Robach began her career at WCBD-TV in 1995 before joining WTTG in Washington, D.C., in 1999. She then moved to MSNBC in 2003, where she spent four years working on various programs, including anchoring two hours in the morning and filling in on shows like Weekend Today, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, and Morning Joe.
