The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses Plot and Cast
Meet Kaede Komura, he’s the desk-mate of Ai Mie and he’s head over heels for her. He’s drawn to her adorableness and endearing behaviour, desperately waiting for the moment their eyes meet. Just a few days into being each other’s company, Komura notices a change in Mie; her eyes squinting and her glasses nowhere in sight.
Forgetful Mie has a habit of forgetting her glasses, making it difficult for her to spend her days at school with her bad eyesight. Komura is naturally more than happy to help her.
The more Mie depends on Komura, the more his feelings deepen for her. Though she isn’t able to see properly, she looks forward to seeing Komura every day. “Will his poor heart give out from the daily strain of being up close and personal with the girl he likes?!”
Shion Wakayama voices Ai Mie, the female lead in the manga and anime series. She’s an endearing and adorable character with mannerisms that will make you blush. Her constant squinting shows how dependent she is on her glasses.
She also has a random character trait of suddenly adopting a samurai-like speaking style, leaving us pretty confused. But there’s no way you can dislike such an adorable character.
Masahiro Itou voices Kaede Komura, the male lead in the manga and anime series. He’s reserved and ordinary, the typical goody-two-shoes who always tries to do the right thing, but his feelings for Mie make him nervous around her.
Other characters are introduced, such as the popular guy, Komura and Mie’s friends, but the main focus in the introductory volume of the manga lies on Mie and Komura. The manner in which the manga as progressed changed every reader’s mind who thought the manga was not worth a read.
The art style perfectly complements the story’s aesthetic, with expressive characters and attention to detail that brings the interactions to life. Each panel is filled with emotion, making it easy to feel exactly what the characters are feeling.
“This manga right here is so sweet and heartwarming. Compared to other slice-of-life style romance, this is by far one of the best already,” said a reviewer. If you’re looking for a romantic, slice-of-life story then The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses is definitely a must-read.
