Two School of Rock costars just celebrated their wedding in the most fitting way: by reuniting the band.
Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli, who played Marta (aka “Blondie”) and Frankie in Richard Linklater’s 2003 comedy, have officially tied the knot. The joyous occasion was shared by one of their former “classmates,” Rivkah Reyes, known for their role as bassist Katie in the movie.
Reyes took to TikTok on Sunday to share highlights from the celebration, setting the video to Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen.”
The song holds nostalgic significance for fans, as it was memorably sung by Joan Cusack’s Principal Mullins during a drunken karaoke scene in the film.
The video featured cameos from several grown-up School of Rock alums, including Brian Falduto, Joey Gaydos Jr., Rivkah Reyes, Robert Tsai, Maryam Hassan, Aleisha Allen, and Cole Hawkins.
School of Rock cast: Where are they now?
“Celebrating the marriage of CAITLIN & Angelo with my forever fam #schoolofrock #wedding,” Reyes captioned the video. It showed cast members reminiscing, posing for pictures, lip-syncing, dancing, and enjoying the vibrant reception.
At one point, the group gathered for a fun photo booth snapshot. The video concluded with the newlyweds, Hale and Massagli, sharing a heartfelt dance.
School of Rock starred the child actors alongside Jack Black as Dewey Finn, an enthusiastic, down-on-his-luck guitarist posing as a substitute teacher.
While at an elite private elementary school, Dewey introduced his students to the power of rock music, inspiring them to form their own band and compete in a local battle of the bands competition.
The film, directed by Richard Linklater, became a beloved classic, and its young cast has left a lasting impression on fans.
From Costars to Soulmates
Hale and Massagli originally met while filming the movie in 2002. Massagli has shared how impressed he was by Hale from their very first audition.
“I remember my first audition for School of Rock like it was yesterday,” he told Inside Edition in 2021. “I get in there, and the little blonde girl next to me gets called in first. She starts singing show tunes and just blows the roof off the place. It was excellent.”
After the movie wrapped, Hale and Massagli stayed in touch with their castmates through a group chat. Their love story took a turn when Hale moved near Massagli in Florida. The two reconnected, began dating, and eventually became a couple.
They teased their engagement in an Instagram post from October 2021, dressed in formal attire and showing off Hale’s sparkling engagement ring.
Life After School of Rock
Hale and Massagli have since stepped away from Hollywood and pursued different careers. Hale works as an OB-GYN ultrasound technologist, while Massagli graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 2019.
Their wedding not only marks a milestone in their personal lives but also serves as a heartwarming reunion for the School of Rock family—a celebration of love, friendship, and the legacy of a film that brought them together.
