Tying the Knot With an Amagami Sister: Staff, Plot, Characters
The anime adaptation of Tying the Knot With an Amagami Sister is directed by Yujiro Abe, accompanied by assistant director Hiroshi Watanabe, and produced by Drive. Yasuko Aoki is in charge of the series scripts, and Haruko Iizuka is designing the characters.
The Plot
Uryuu Kamihate, a young aspiring doctor who spent most of his life in an orphanage, has finally found a home at the Amagami Shrine. But it’s never that easy; there’s a significant hurdle to overcome, he identifies as an atheist.
Upon his arrival, he encounters three shrine sisters: Yae, the eldest with a childlike appearance; Yuna, the middle sister with a confrontational nature; and Asahi, the mischievous youngest sibling. While Yae and Asahi welcome his presence, Yuna vehemently opposes it due to their opposing beliefs.
Asahi, though, begins to uncover the reason behind Uryuu’s lack of faith. Just as things seem to be settling, a surprising truth from Chidori Amagami, the sisters’ grandfather, emerges. Uryuu must marry one of the sisters and become the shrine’s heir to secure his stay.
The Characters
Uryū Kamihate is a dedicated high school student with aspirations of attending Kyoto University’s medical school, driven by the memory of his mother’s passing. While he spends most of his time buried in his studies, he forms a unique bond with the Amagami siblings despite a rocky start.
Uryū is destined to marry one of them to carry on the Amagami Shrine’s legacy. His exceptional skills in household chores and cooking earned him the admiration of the Amagami siblings. However, Uryū often finds himself in comical, awkward situations, with the siblings teasing him for being a bit of a flirt.
Yae Amagami, the eldest daughter, is an art major with a playful personality. It’s later revealed that she was adopted into the Amagami family and originally named Reiko Ichijōji. She had a crush on Uryū from a few years ago, and his encouragement helped her become more confident and carefree, leaving behind a difficult childhood.
Yuna Amagami, the second sister, has a tsundere personality and excels academically, though English isn’t her strong suit. She is determined to uphold the Amagami Shrine’s legacy.
Asahi Amagami, the youngest sister. Despite her age, she possesses a mature intellect, excelling as a middle school scholar. Her affection for Uryū blossomed following an incident involving a time loop, which led her to fall deeply in love with him.
