In 2006, a psychological horror film was released. It is based on a video game of the same name published in 1999 by the company Konami Group Corporation. Silent Hill is directed by Christophe Gans and written by Roger Avary, Christopher Gans, and Nicolas Boukhrief.
The video game’s adaptation for the big screen brings eerie images to life with a rewritten narrative based on the game’s original plot, in which a father looks for his daughter in a ghost town full of monsters. In the film, a couple (including Rose and her husband Chris) are concerned about their adopted daughter Sharon, who sleepwalks and is experiencing nightmares related to the place called Silent Hill.
Alliance Atlantis and Metropolitan Filmexport both released Silent Hill on April 21, 2006, in Canada and on April 26, 2006, in France, respectively. Over $100 million was made from the movie’s international box office, while over $22 million was made from DVD and Blu-ray sales. Earlier critics gave it mostly unfavorable reviews, but more recent reviews and a cult following for the gaming adaptations were given in its favor. It garnered four Fangoria Chainsaw Award nominations. On October 26, 2012, Silent Hill: Revelation, the sequel, was also published.

Plot of Silent Hill
As was already said, a couple is following their foster daughter, who is having nightmares and sleepwalking bouts, and all she says while she does so is the term “Silent Hill. One night, Rose protected her from nearly falling over a cliff. Rose made the decision to enter this location out of concern for her kid.
Rose was involved in an accident on the way to Silent Hill, and when she awoke, Sharon was gone. Outside of the town, Rose was frantically looking for her daughter. She was joined by Cybil, a police officer who had doubts about her. However, after facing some unexpected beasts, she accompanied Rose in her search for Sharon. And leave Silent Hill by unraveling the mysteries prior to their demise.
Their path was extremely challenging, terrifying, and unpleasant. Every move must be carefully considered because every cult member is attempting to murder them. Cybil, however, was unable to persevere until the very end. In the end, Rose and Sharon are reunited, but are they safe?
The plot’s multidimensional premise with a sense of terror is what makes it special. The dimension Rose and Cybil were in don’t exist in the current world, and it was shown as a spooky city with a desolate landscape. It includes even another realm, which is the sinister side of the city and contains all the terrifying monsters.
Silent Hill Ending Explained
Rose encounters the devil while searching for Sharon, who tells her everything about Alessa’s past. In order to enter the church and uphold the agreement he had made with her, he hides away inside her body. After burning Sybil, the cult is going to fire Sharon when Rose walks into the chapel.
As Rose is being stabbed by Christabella, the devil flees and impacts negatively on everyone within the church as blood flows out of her body. Because she is Alessa’s mother and the little girl doesn’t want to injure her, only Dahlia is saved.
When the revenge segment of the story ended, Rose took Sharon, and they both got out of Silent Hills. But they are still in a different dimension than Chris, and therefore, the whole family is not able to have a happy ending.
The Devil has since departed Silent Hill in search of a destructive location. Like Dahlia, Rose is still in a state of limbo, neither living nor dead. They were not supposed to be the targets of Alessa’s retaliation, so the devil won’t harm them. This indicates that he is currently waiting for someone else to strike a bargain with him, giving him a second chance to wreak havoc and commit atrocities.
Given everything the two have been through, it’s a depressing ending, but the film’s sequel, “Silent Hill: Revelations,” reveals that Rose was able to save Sharon but is still imprisoned in the realm herself.
