Within the pages of manga and the frames of anime, the legendary character of Detective Conan springs to life. In the maze-like world of crimes and mysteries, where shadows are whispering secrets and puzzles taunt the curious, this high school child detective stands out.
The popularity of Detective Conan can be seen from the long chain of anime series that has been made till now, and to give its fans more of Detective Conan’s brilliance and razer-sharp intellect, the makers of the anime series are coming up with yet another installment. Our all-time favorite Detective Conan is coming again with entangled mysteries and suspense.
On Thursday, Odex, a streaming platform, released a trailer for “Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine” (The Black Iron Submarine), the 26th installment in the renowned Detective Conan film series, with Indonesian subtitles. The trailer disclosed that the movie is scheduled to premiere in Indonesia on July 26th.
Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine plot line
The film unfolds its story on Hachijō-jima island, located south of central Tokyo. A convergence of international engineers occurs as they gather to witness the launch of an innovative system that links law enforcement camera networks worldwide, introducing a groundbreaking global facial recognition capability.

In the midst of these events, Conan also goes to the island upon receiving an invitation from Sonoko. However, his arrival is accompanied by a disquieting message from Subaru Okiya, informing him of a tragic incident; Black Organization’s Gin has allegedly murdered a Europol agent in Germany. Troubled by this news, Conan explores the newly constructed facility, only to find himself embroiled in a precarious situation when the Black Organization abducts a female engineer. Their objective? To obtain a critical piece of data stored in her USB drive.
The film is brought to life under the direction of Yuzuru Tachikawa, renowned for his work on notable titles like “Mob Psycho 100”, “Blue Giant”, “Case Closed: Zero the Enforcer”, and “Death Parade”. Handling the screenplay was Takeharu Sakurai, who has worked in six other Detective Conan films, including ” Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet”. The film’s musical score is composed by Yūgo Kanno, known for his exceptional work on projects such as “Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween”, “Psycho-Pass”, and “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders”. Kanno’s musical prowess adds another layer of brilliance to the film.
Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine performance
Since its release on April 14, the film has achieved remarkable success at the box office. Within its first three days, it garnered immense popularity, selling 2,176,407 tickets and amassing a staggering 3,144,638,7340 yen (about US$23.4 million). This extraordinary performance established the film as the best three-day opening in the history of the Detective Conan franchise.
Furthermore, this installment stands as the first film in the franchise to surpass the milestone of earning more than 10 billion yen. As of June 26, it has accumulated an impressive total of 13.12 billion yen (about US$91.7 million) and sold 9.26 million tickets. These impressive figures have solidified the film’s position as the 25th highest-earning film of all time in Japan.
