A new American series directed by Meaghan Oppenheimer is based on a Novel having the same title written by Carola Lovering. It is a highly anticipated series, Tell me lies is a “thrilling, erotic coming-of-age novel exploring poisonous love, cutthroat ambition, and stunning betrayal,” according to the description.
There is a girl named Lucy who is going to start her college life. Lucy Albright arrives on the campus of her little California college, far from her Long Island childhood. She is relieved to be hundreds of miles away from her mother, whom she has never forgiven for an act of dishonesty in her early adolescence.
Lucy quickly embraces college life and all it has to offer and quickly adjusts to it—new friends, crazy parties, and intriguing classes. Then she runs into Stephen DeMarco, who is charming and appealing. But it’s complicated and devastating.
Stephen also found himself getting attracted to Lucy as he found something in her he had never seen in any other girl. And she is immediately fascinated by this picture of herself, as well as the sense of possibilities that his attention provides her. Meanwhile, Stephen is trying to forget an episode from his past that, if revealed, may ruin him, and his unwavering will to succeed extends to earning and keeping Lucy’s heart.
The novel Tell Me Lies alternates between Lucy’s and Stephen’s voices as it chronicles their relationship. Deep down, somewhere, she understands that she has to acknowledge Stephen’s truth someday. But, before she can break free from this addictive knot, she must confront and restore her connection with her family, that is, her mother.
The show follows Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco’s turbulent yet enthralling romance. We’ll witness their narrative unfold over the period of eight years, beginning with their first meeting in college. Although it begins as a standard university relationship, their seemingly insignificant actions lead to irreversible repercussions. The two swiftly become entangled in an addictive relationship that will forever change their lives and the lives of everyone around them.
What happened in the previous episodes?
Lucy begins college and quickly finds herself in the same social group as Steven, Pippa, Bree, Wrigley, Diana, and many more. In a vehicle accident, Lucy’s roommate, Maisie, is killed in a vehicle. And when the accident occurred, Steven and Wrigley’s buddy, Drew, were present. He fled the scene since he was drunk and using a false ID.
Diana and Stephen are having sex in the first episode of Tell Me Lies when she orders Stephen to stop. Wrigley phones Stephen and wants him to come over right away when she departs, leaving him alone and about to masturbate. Drew, their friend, is upset and admits that he “really messed up.” We don’t see the following exchange, but are we correct in assuming it has anything to do with Maisie’s death? A past scene was also included in episode 1, where Lucy attends Bree’s wedding in 2015 and bumps into Stephen, with whom she appears to have lost contact for some time.
Lucy is awakened in bed with the cute guy. He wants to take her out to supper, and Lucy responds with a yes. Wrigley has completed his treaded test, which he believes went well. Stephen discovers that Diana has been hired as a research assistant, a position that he coveted. Stephen confronts Diana, accusing her of applying for the job only to spite him. Nonetheless, he has sex with Diana. They awaken in bed, which Diana refers to as a sick cycle. She tells him that she respects herself too much to allow him to disrespect her openly. He thinks she is unable to let go of the past.
Despite understanding the truth about Maisie’s crash, Pippa informs Wrigley that she will not be leaving. Diana contacts Stephen and tells him he’s correct because she’s not letting things go. But, even if they’re not back together, she wants to hang out with him. Stephen stalks Lucy and Diana on social media in the third episode of Tell Me Lies.
